OLD PUPILS ASSOCIATION

The Old Pupils Association
Sadly, for a number of reasons, the Association has been permanently closed down in October 2022. All members should have received a letter explaining the reasons for the closure. If you paid your subscription by Standing Order you should contact your bank to cancel it before the next payment becomes due in January 2023.
This version of the Old Pupils Association was officially formed on Sunday 14 June 1992, when a group of former pupils met in the school hall and unanimously agreed to set up an Association. This meeting arose out of the second annual reunion of old pupils, which had been initiated by Lionel Wernick originally for war time and pre-war pupils of the Secondary School, and also opened its membership to Grammar School pupils and staff.
There had been OPA groups before this one was formed but they had all been disbanded due to lack of support.

The Association’s objectives were to:
- Perpetuate the memory of the former Wolverhampton Municipal Secondary/Grammar School ("the School").
- Foster and renew friendships among former pupils of the School.
- Facilitate the social activities of members of the Association.
- Facilitate endowment of scholarships/funds and other academic activities.
